You know that feeling you get when your clothes feel way too old? Wearing them just sucks the life out of you. They makes you feel like a shittier, more awkward version of yourself.<\/p>\n
Well, that\u2019s how I felt about this website. I grew out of it a loooong time ago, but I\u2019ve been wearing the same old rags for years. Until this week.<\/p>\n
Ahhhhh, much better.<\/p>\n
The last update was in 2011. And I was a much different guy then.<\/p>\n
Back then, this site served a little more as an ego booster. A way to show everyone how awesome my life was. To assert my identity as a traveler. A digital nomad. Someone living an unconventional life. To prop myself up as someone who\u2019s figured out a better way of living (and as a result, propping others down).<\/p>\n
Ugh, that mindset does NOT resonate with me anymore.<\/p>\n
Since 2011, I\u2019ve grown and changed. A lot. And in some ways, I\u2019m still living an unconventional life. But that part of me that thinks MY way is the RIGHT way? Nope, gone. And good riddance!<\/p>\n
So I\u2019ve tailored the site to better fit my vibe today. I redesigned it to be cleaner, clearer. To have more breathing room. To get rid of the clutter and to put more focus on the individual words themselves.<\/p>\n
And it feels good. Really good.<\/p>\n
Along with this makeover, I\u2019ve been feeling a strong desire to start writing on here again. To express myself more. Authentically. Vulnerably. Playfully. To share my thoughts and feelings. To not just stand by and absorb, but to jump in and contribute.<\/p>\n
However, I\u2019ve made that promise tons of times in the past and then found the tides of life taking me in other directions. And these days, I\u2019m not about forcing myself to do anything. I\u2019d rather just follow my gut, follow the flow, and see where it takes me next.<\/p>\n
So with that being said, I\u2019m putting in a soft intention<\/em> to start writing more.
